Cassidy's Soccer Goals
by Jaden and Haley

When we chose to produce this story, we immediately knew we were going to score! Cassidy Nurnberger is a soccer player at our school who has been practicing her craft since the young age of 3. We were excited to get started!

Haley went over to Cassidy’s house for the interview and had a lot of fun. She and Cassidy are close friends. It’s enjoyable when you get to produce a story alongside a friend or family member. The interview went really well and we had many great soundbites to use when we went to the editing room.

Before the editing process, we had to gather b-roll and work out the script. It's not always easy to choose what to show and how to say it, but this came together well.

As we began editing, we were thankful for what we call ‘extra-duties’ in Blue Jay Journal TV. Extra duties are the games and assemblies that our staff members film outside of class in order to have extra footage just in case we ever need it. In our case, we had a couple of soccer games Cassidy played in that helped us out a lot! We also had awesome footage from one of Cassidy’s select team’s practices.

We were happy that we got the chance to tell Cassidy’s story. Thank you so much for watching our story and we wish Cassidy the best in her future endeavors!
