Farm to You
by Austin and Molly E
When we looked at the story topic choices, Geisert's Farm To You Market caught our interest. We were excited to tell the story of a new store that really focuses on the community. So, we emailed the owner, Todd Geisert, to schedule an interview in his store.
The first interview we had scheduled had to be cancelled due to conflicts with our schedules. We called Todd and set up another. Molly went and did the interview with Todd and shot some b-roll of the store. Austin slated and logged the interview and then back-timed it. Once we were finished with all of that, it was time to start editing.
Piecing the story together was a difficult time because there was plenty of information about his main goal: selling products by local farmers in the store.
After we had the voice overs completed, it was time to put the script and voice overs together. Once the script was edited, the b-roll was next. Placing b-roll in necessary spots throughout the story, as well as fixing audio issues, was the biggest struggle with the story.
After several days in the edit bay, the story was nearly completed. We were then ready to review the story with Ms. Turner. When she first looked at the story she noticed a few small issues, but were quickly fixed.
After solving the issues, the story was finally finished. We both had a great time with the story.
Specifically, Molly loved the interview with Todd Geisert, and the amount of b-roll footage taken. Austin enjoyed his first story by learning how to edit, and learning the whole story process.
We hope you enjoy our finished product.
