I was anxious for the start of school because I wasn’t sure of how the new devices were going to work out in my classes. Many other students were unaware of how teachers would find a way to convert many of our lessons to online lessons. While I was hesitant at first, I shortly realized the impact my new ChromeBook would have on my learning capabilities.
Starting out the school year, I have several academic goals that I’m determined to meet. I’ve really taken it upon myself to finish every bit of homework before the due date and put my honest effort into it. Having my ChromeBook right next to me has helped me out immensely. I love that all of my teachers have made a point to really take advantage of this opportunity we have been provided with.
I think the ChromeBooks are going to keep getting easier to use and easier to incorporate into lessons as time goes on. About ½ of my core classes are “paperless classrooms” or pretty close to it, which is really nice. Having all of my homework and assignments just a few clicks away is much nicer than having 30 loose papers in my backpack and I think it keeps me much more organized.
With any new thing, there’s always going to be bumps along the road at first, but I truly believe that the ChromeBooks are one of the best things to happen to students at WHS, and I’m really happy that I get to take advantage of the 1:1 system while I am here!
