#1. Camp ASB
Last summer, I had the opportunity to go to a summer broadcast camp in Lee's Summit, MO ran by The Academy of Scholastic Broadcasting. Before going to the camp, I had not been a part of BJJTV. It was very exciting, yet scary. I had no idea what I was getting into because I had never done anything like it before. The thought of writing a script, editing video, and producing a story made me nervous and overwhelmed. Luckily, by the end of camp, I knew how to do it all!
I am so glad that I attended Camp ASB to get my first experience as a broadcast journalist before I started BJJTV. Working with other students from all over America helped tremendously due to the fact that they could critique my work and assist me along the way. It opened my eyes to new opportunities in BJJTV and life in general. Overall, I would highly recommend Camp ASB if you are hoping to join the staff!
#2. MIPA J-Day at Mizzou
My next favorite moment was Journalism Day. It is held at Mizzou and ran by the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association. At J-Day we listened to a variety of speakers talking about different fields within Journalism. I found it very interesting. At the end of the day, all the schools that attended J-Day met together in Jesse Auditorium for the awards ceremony. J-Day was special to me because I got to bond more with my fellow staff members and learn more about journalism in general.
#3. The Entire Year
This year has been extremely important and special. I have met new people and made new friends because of Blue Jay Journal TV. I have gotten a chance to experience what a team feels like. I have never been in a class before where everyone gets along. I feel for the most part, everyone genuinely likes each other and are friendly towards each other.
We have had so much fun over the past year in BJJTV! This class has brought me so many memories and laughs. I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world! I am thankful to have gotten to experience all of the people and new friends I have made in Blue Jay Journal TV. I honestly loved the 2016-2017 BJJTV Staff and I cannot wait for the 2017-2018 Staff!
Thank you for reading, I am so glad I can share my memories and experiences with you!
