As many of you know or may have guessed, softball is one of my favorite things to do. I play on a competitive team, which means I get to travel a lot in the summer to go to big exposure tournaments.
This summer I’ve gotten the opportunity to travel to Chattanooga, Georgia, Kansas City, Colorado, Illinois, and as I type this I’m getting ready to take off again for Springfield, Illinois. With all the travels, along the way I've picked up some pretty handy travel tips.
Tip #1: If you have Netflix, ALWAYS pre-download shows and movies.
Let’s just be honest here, long car rides with your family members aren’t the most fun thing to endure. Luckily for you, Netflix has created a feature so that you can tune those pesky siblings out. Before you leave, just simply download the Netflix app on your phone or tablet, open it up, click in the top left corner and when options appear, click downloads, and there lies your cure to boredom. Just remember to bring headphones along!
Tip #2: Bring a backpack!
Whenever I travel, I always bring along my backpack. Before my trip, I go shopping for some “essentials.” Be sure to stock your backpack with lots of snacks, movies, books, magazines, and of course, a portable charger.
Tip #3: Be outgoing!
No matter where you are going you are bound to see exciting things! Don’t be afraid to stop and take a picture because you may never go back there again. These are memories you are making, and you want to be sure to remember as many of them as possible. Then again, you can’t always get everyone in the picture because someone has to take it. Hold up, that’s not true! Most locals realize that there are tourists and sights they want to see. They would probably love to take a few pictures for you. Don’t be afraid to go up and ask them to take some, along with asking them where else you should be sure to visit. No one knows the place like the locals!
