Senior Year Options
by Austin and Jade
We decided to tell a story about seniors graduating early or going part time.
We set up interviews with students, but some fell through and some didn't go well. That put our story behind schedule. In addition, we ended up being absent different days of the week when doing interviews. Along with that, Ms. Turner was at nationals in Indianapolis with three other students.
It was the perfect storm that led us to missing deadlines and falling way behind.
Luckily, Ms. Turner was willing to help us catch up once she returned from Indianapolis. She helped us find stronger interviews. That was a big step in the right direction.
We finally got solid interviews with perspectives of students and a guidance counselor to provide balance. They also gave some helpful thoughts that may assist a student if he or she is deciding if they should should graduate early or go part time.
The story was pieced together with the help of Ms. Turner and another classmate, Ellie Sheer. Then, it was time to review and submit the story.
We both enjoyed the story experience despite the set backs and were thankful it came together because another staff member and our adviser were so helpful.
