Volleyball is my favorite sport. I love playing volleyball. I remember when I first started in 5th grade, I primarily did it just for fun and not to get too serious with it since I was more focused on basketball at the time. Once I kept playing volleyball, I fell in love with the sport and never wanted to stop playing beyond that point. I then joined a club team in 7th grade and instead of having basketball tournaments every weekend I was having volleyball tournaments every weekend all weekend. And I loved it. Joining a club team made me grow so close with a group of girls as well as continuing my love for the sport. Most of the girls I played club with also were on the middle school team, so when middle school tryouts came I was ahead of the game with already having a connection with some of the girls as well as an experience with already playing.
With how much I loved volleyball I never thought anything would get in the way of that. Of course anyone could come across a bad coach, unfortunately I did my sophomore year when I switched to a different club team. I had two coaches who made me feel terrible about my performance and grew to not like volleyball anymore which was very devastating since volleyball was something I would always look forward to everyday. At that point I contemplated everyday about quitting volleyball. I decided to try another year of school volleyball and switch back to my old club team to see if quitting is really wanted to do. I started to love playing again once I surrounded myself with the people who made the sport fun in the first place.

My senior year was this year. My last year. I never thought in a million years that the time where I am a senior with a senior night and eventually my last game would ever come. I strived to make this year the absolute best. Volleyball has always had unnecessary drama every year, so me along with the other seniors made it a point to not have any drama. We were blessed to have a great group of seniors and juniors who were all very close in the first place and also welcomed a sophomore to the group. We had a very successful season with a great winning record. For the district tournament we got a great seed and were set up to win the first round. Unfortunately, we had a very off game and lost, resulting in my very last game of my volleyball career and last game ever with the girls I played with for 8 years straight. It was a very emotional night for all of us and personally I cried so hard as if I had just gotten broken up with.
At the end of the day, I am so thankful I decided to not quit volleyball when I was thinking about it because the joy and success that came after that big slump in my career was well worth the fight.

I Love Concerts!

https://bluejayjournaltv.weebly.com/sydney-h/i-love-concerts

https://bluejayjournaltv.weebly.com/sydney-h/i-love-concerts#comments

Uncategorized

One thing I enjoy doing outside of school is attending concerts. Concerts are something I am very willing to spend money on and I am also very willing to wait a long time to get as close as possible to the performer. Attending concerts gives me an adrenaline rush because most concerts I've been to are singers in which I have loved for as long as I can remember.

The first ever concert I went to was One Direction when I was in 3rd grade. I was a HUGE fan of One Direction (and I still am) so when I found out I was going to see them in person, I could not contain my excitement. I remember leading up to the concert I would watch their movie they made over and over because I was so excited to go see my favorite people in the whole world. Once the concert was over I was very impressed with the performance.

Ever since the band broke up, I always wanted to go see every member perform in their solo careers, so once I became old enough to make money and buy my own tickets I have seen Harry Styles in concert and Louis Tomlinson two times. I will be seeing Niall Horan this June and that will be everyone who’s in the band who still performs. I am very excited to see Niall in person. By far out of those concerts, the first time I saw Louis was the best one I went to. For the concert, I waited outside in the snow for 3 hours, I couldn’t feel my toes or fingers, but once I got into the venue and the actual concert started I was able to get pretty close to the stage and got a really great view of the whole concert.

I also like to attend the concerts at the fair. But only the ones that aren’t all country music. I don’t really like country music. I went to the Flo Rida last fair and the Nelly concert this year. I waited in line for about 6 hours for Nelly and to be honest I liked waiting in line for 6 hours more than the actual concert. Nelly did not impress me very much. About the only thing I enjoyed about the actual concert was that he let me sing “Hot in Herre” into the microphone. On the other hand Flo Rida was probably the best concert I have ever been to in my entire life. He put on a really really impressive show and I would say everyone enjoys that concert. He was amazing at including the crowd and doing the best he could to make his performance amazing. I would definitely go see him again

A few people I would still love to see in concert are Shawn Mendes (I did get tickets to go see him, but he ended up canceling his tour and I was still and very upset about it). I would love to see Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Pitbull. I would absolutely LOVE to see Pitbull come to the fair. I feel like he could really put on a very entertaining show.

I would totally recommend earning money to buy concert tickets for any artist you love to listen to. You ill get a huge adrenaline rush and I promise the money and time spend will be worth it.

Until next time,
Sydney Harbath
