We knew we wanted to do our story on something heartfelt. Our adviser, MT, was all for it when we told her we were thinking of doing a story on bullying.
When we had trouble finding a subject to talk about the problem, MT hooked us up with a WHS Alumni that she knew. Michael Chance was more than willing to do an interview for our story.
Our interview with Michael was very touching. He gave us all of the details of what he went through throughout elementary school and into high school.
Besides Michael, we also wanted someone to give another perspective. After exploring our options, we decided that WHS Teacher, Cassandra Suggs, would provide us with what the story needed.
After the interviews, slating and logging was a breeze. We pieced the script together in two days during class. MT approved the script and we starting editing right away.
The sound bites fit together perfectly and our only trouble was finding b-roll. After contacting Michael, we were given permission to use photos from his Facebook account, which completed the story. Overall, we hope this story shows people that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Being bullied is something many people deal with, but there is hope.
We thank you for watching our story. We hope you will share it with others who need to know that they are not alone.
