The day we witnessed a once in a lifetime phenomenon. One that will be read about in the history books of future generations.
The day Creation looked to the heavens and held their breath waiting to see what God would do.
The day people from different countries, ethnicities, and tongues would unify in one path under the sun to watch it be cloaked by the moon.
The day of the Solar Eclipse.
This day is one hard to put into words. It’s nearly impossible to describe how it felt to be staring at the sun and watching the world transform from day to night within a matter of minutes.
“Incredible” is an understatement when it comes to describing my experience from the path of totality. Mother Nature reacted in a way that left me speechless. God painted her skies with oranges and golds, creating a panoramic sunset view. The birds descended from their flight in the sky and the evening cicadas began to sing. The heat of the afternoon melted away as I watched the street lights come on and the highway traffic cease.
2 minutes and 28 seconds. That’s all the time I was given to admire this moment.
2 minutes and 28 seconds. Then the sun peaked out from behind the moon and reawoke the world.
Moments like this remind me just how big our God is and how deep His love runs that He would orchestrate a show such as this for us to enjoy.
