Even though I have only been in this class for one year, I have made so many great memories and learned so much. I have amassed an uncountable number of memories throughout the year, but here are my top three in no particular order:
J-day at Mizzou
That was one of the best things that we did as a class did. Traveling to Mizzou, going around the campus, and listening to several different speakers was a great learning experience. On top of that, our class won several awards. I won an award for my blog, so that was really exciting. Getting recognized for my work and seeing my pals win several awards of their own was by far one of my best memories of the year.
My Spikeball Story
This was my backpack story. That means I did it all on my own. I knew it would be a bit of a challenge, however I couldn't have chosen a better topic. I was (and still am) super into spikeball, so right off the bat I was hyped about it. The interview was really fun and it was my favorite ones I did all year. After I put it all together, it was a super-enjoyable story and I was beyond proud of how it turned out. It was for sure one of my favorite stories that I did all year.
Jared and I's PSA on Kindness
For a QA earlier in the year we were tasked with producing a PSA of our choosing. My fellow esteemed classmate, Jared Lopez, and I decided to make one about kindness. The production went pretty smoothly until the car we were using for a scene broke down and became stuck before we could finish the shoot. We spent the next half hour trying to remedy the situation before finally giving up and going home. The best part about it was that we forgot to stop recording on the camera, so that half hour of footage was saved and we got a really good laugh going back and listening to us try and fix the problem.
Yup, I sure have had a lot of great times in this class. I am going to miss all of the seniors who will be gone next year, but at the same time I am very excited for everything that can and will be accomplished next year with all the new incoming staff members.
Once, I almost got the school's mascot changed to a dead gorilla.
