Throughout my four years at high school, I've been a part of many classes. Some were bad, and some were great. In order of when I took the class, here are some of the best:
Honors Geometry - This is the only math class on this list and for good reason. I hate math. However, Coach Gough was an excellent teacher and this class was the last math class I actually excelled at.
Cultural foods - Honestly you can't NOT like a class where you get to eat food multiple times a week and Cultural Foods was no exception.
Introduction to Visual Design - I took this class just to get my art credit, but I ended up really enjoying it. Mr. Snider is a G and a really cool guy. He even bought us donuts a few times!
Weights - Similar to Introduction to Visual Design, I took this class just to get my other gym credit, but I ended up really enjoying it. I made a lot of friends and got swole at the same time. What more could you ask for?
American History - This Mrs. Herbst lead class was definitely one of the highlights of my sophomore year schedule. I can't really put an exact finger on why it was, but I have many memories from it and it's just one of those things you had to be there for.
AP Lit - This class was the first class I took that really felt like a college environment. We read a bunch of really good books (except for Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen can rot in her grave for writing that book), had great class discussions, and Mr. Flynn has a dope book collection.
History of the American West - I honestly learned so much new information in this class and I still praise Mr. Rinne any time I get a question in quiz bowl over the stuff we covered in there.
Blue Jay Journal TV - Well, without this class I wouldn't have been able to write this blog post so that counts for something! But seriously, this class really feels like a family and after doing so much great work in it throughout the years, I will miss it dearly next year.
CC Sociology - This is another class that is not only great due to the content of it, but the people in it. The group of students in the class is fantastic and I always have a fun time and learn a lot when I am in there. Also, even though Mrs Flynn throws a lot of shade my way, she is still a great teacher and makes the class excellent.
Leadership - Leadership may be the most unique class on this list simply because we don't "learn" anything in the traditional sense, we "do" things. Without Leadership there would be so many things I would have not gotten involved in such as Relay for Life, Dig for a Difference, and Mr WHS. Through the class I was able to see that I can make a difference in others lives and that is invaluable.
