The Power of the Written Word

4/24/2016

Coping with your feelings can be hard sometimes. Whether it be personal problems, social issues, or relationship struggles, it’s always a good thing to talk about your feelings. Bottling them up isn’t the most ideal way to handle things, so writing can be a safe haven for many people.

Writing comes in many different forms: poetry, storytelling, blogs, and journals, just to name a few. It is a great way to vent your feelings in a safe way.

I find comfort in writing about troubling situations in maybe a journal or a notebook, but not for anyone else to see. Venting about my feelings and my thoughts is a great way to clear my head and lessen my stress.

Writing can also be incredibly powerful. It’s one of the best ways to communicate empowering ideas to either others or just yourself. It can create a lasting impact on many people.

It amazes me how talented people can be at writing. I remember sitting in my bedroom and I would spend hours reading stories written by teenagers on an app on my phone. It never failed to amaze me how people could put such elegant stories together so effortlessly.

I can only imagine writing an entire story like the ones that I read when I was younger. But I still find comfort in venting and using my words to educate people every day.

Never underestimate the power of the written word. It's something we shouldn't take for granted.
