We’ve got Nazis and white supremacists running around in the streets of Charlottesville and a President standing at their side defending them.
We’ve got a van ramming into a crowd of innocent people, killing 14 people in Barcelona.
We’ve got a mudslide in Sierra Leone that’s killed around 499 people that has had hardly any national news coverage.
There are so many things happening in this world at once.
Domestic terrorism seems to be a trend rising in America, mostly committed by white males in the name of white supremacy or the confederacy.
Our infamous President Trump is defending these horrible supremacists and their actions.
Terrorism, in general, is a common headline seen daily worldwide.
Natural disasters are striking left and right.
There is nothing more defeating seeing these tragedies happening all around the world and I can’t do anything to stop it.
I’m confined by my own life. I may be able to do things to help in the future, but our world is in crisis mode now. I can’t do anything to help.
But I won't let that defeat me. I will continue to talk about it and bring these issues to light. I will try to combat it online and in real life.
Being able to talk about these instances makes people more aware of what’s going on. This stuff isn't something that can be ignored. We all need to know what is going on in the world, especially at a time like this. Our world can’t change without everyone’s help.
I’m urging you to pay attention to the news; stand up against bigotry, racism, sexism, and overall discrimination; and be a good person. It's not hard, and everyone is capable of doing so.
Spread love, not hate.
