Solar power is one of the most revolutionary discoveries in energy technology, yet it is seldomly used. It is beneficial to people all over the world, and it definitely has a big impact on the environment, so why aren't we using it?
It might be because not a lot of people believe in climate change. News flash: it's real, it's happening, and if we don't do anything to stop it, it could potentially destroy our world. A big cause of climate change is major companies using nuclear or fossil fuel energy sources which pollutes the air with carbon dioxide. This causes the earth to warm up, which leads to the melting of the North and South poles and major effects on different ecosystems as well.
The effects that climate change has on this world could be catastrophic, but there are solutions to this ever-growing problem. One of those solutions is solar power. Instead of connecting to an electrical source powered by fossil fuels, connecting to solar power would be much better for our environment.
In case you don't already know, solar power is an electrical source powered by the light and energy from the sun rather than some other harmful power source.
I have already seen some solar powered homes and businesses around Washington, but I believe it should be more widespread. Having this option available to all people could positively impact our community and help stop the effects of climate change in our community.
