I dreaded getting yelled at or maybe even physically assaulted for using my first amendment rights. The violence that erupts at Trump’s political rallies is fueled by his speeches and his empty promises to “Make America Great Again.” I saw two physical fights break out right in the middle of the crowd; it got to the point where police had to come and arrest people for fighting.
Granted, political rallies do tend to get very heated, but when you look at past elections, none of the rallies have generated as much anger and hatred than Trump.
Is this really how we want America to be represented? Do we want someone who evokes so many negative emotions to be the president of our country?
This man could very well be the leader of our free country. With him as president, it doesn’t look like our country is going to be free for much longer.
Trump is calling a ban on all Muslims from entering the United States. For a long time, a major part of his campaign has been the building of the wall between Mexico and the United States. Experts say not only is this wall policy completely unrealistic, it is also borderline idiotic.
I believe that the only way Donald Trump has become the Republican candidate for president is by rallying for these ideas that would eventually tear this country apart. That is far off from “making it great again.”
America is fine just the way it is now. Of course, there could be major improvements in areas like equality, police brutality, and systemic racism (just to name a few), but those will never be changed with Trump’s policies. If anything, it could make it much, much worse.
Remember, the only way you can prevent Trump from being president is if you vote! Registration is easy, plus it is a great way to get involved in politics. Just make sure you do a little research first.
