WHS Life Skills
When Ms. Turner asked me what topic I wanted to do my story on, I immediately knew which topic I wanted to choose.
Earlier this semester I started A+ tutoring for the Life Skills P.E. class. Before then, I had never really interacted with all of the kids in the class. This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
I realized that not many WHS students have interacted with the life skills students. I feel bad that they don’t get to experience what I do in my A+ tutoring class.
I decided to produce this story so that everybody could get a peek into the class. I also want them to understand that these kids are just like the rest of us.
This story is the first story I’ve ever done totally on my own. I set up all the interviews and filmed all the b-roll. I never really felt nervous during the filming, I was just very excited to see everything come together. I got so much video of them having fun and being themselves that it was difficult to select what to use because there were so many good shots. I also wrote the script and edited the video by myself, too.
The main issue I had with this story was working around a day we were not in school. Other than that, I felt that producing the story went very well.
I’m proud of how this story came out. I hope you like it, too!
