Putting Yourself First

A blog is supposed to be about anything. Something you are passionate about, a serious topic, your day, etc. I guess something that I can write a lot about right now, that I'm kind of passionate about, is to not lose focus on yourself. To put yourself first.
Putting yourself first can be a difficult thing. It took me a long time to finally start putting myself first but it’s worth it. Helping people can be a great thing, but it can make you lose sight of yourself. A person can put all their energy into multiple people or one person and completely abandon themselves.
When this happens the person becomes upset and drained all the time. Then the person could start disliking themselves because of how they are acting/feeling when they are alone. They pour too much into others and leave themselves dry. Plus, the person or persons you are putting your energy into might not give you the same energy. This could make you upset and feel worse about yourself just because the other person isn’t giving you the same energy.
At the end of the day you are by yourself, whether that is scary or not, it’s true. So you need to do things for yourself and make yourself happy.  Keeping yourself happy is important. Just do little things that put a smile on your face or treat yourself. Someone doesn’t have to make you happy or buy you things to make you happy. As long as you love yourself and can be happy by yourself for long periods of time then that’s what matters. You can’t rely on others all the time.
You are in charge of your own emotions. Put yourself first, know your self worth, you are worth a lot more than you think. It may be difficult at first but trust me, it’s worth it in the long run. You got this!
